I looked for sonic material, which, in contrary to the usual method (to add classical, avantgardistic fragments to the pop- and rock music), was willing to let herself impose on the rhythms and sounds of our machines and samples. I selected the sound universe of Edward Kobrin (his 'computer controlled music', Kobrin created, together with Jeff Mack a computer-system called HYBRID, in the 70s). in the studio, there came into being ten 'Non Toxique Lost' songs, which are to be classified in the genres of industrial, postpunk, free no-wave music, but at the same time referencing the historic material, respond it, drown it out, attenuate it and carefully cooperate with it. parallel to the studioworks Edward Kobrin was contacted, asked for his permission to use his music. he instantly agreed, without having knowing any result of the manipulations. the eleventh song is a bonus track - 'zeit rast' (which translates to 'time flies') and creates a reference between these recordings from 1976 and 2011. as if it had happened only yesterday. Non Toxique Lost likes to thank Edward Kobrin. (liner notes by Sea Wanton)
